Bin Collection Days

There will be no bin collection service on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day.

Extra bin collection for households on our sustainable service.

Are you on our sustainable bin collection service, which includes weekly green-lid FOGO bin collections?

If yes, we will provide these households with an additional collection of red-lid landfill bins in the week beginning Monday, 29 December 2025.

This means that these households can put out all three bins – green, red and yellow – for collection in the week beginning Monday 29 December 2025.

Except for Christmas and New Year's Day, collections occur on public holidays.

If you are on our sustainable service (weekly food and organic garden collection), you can receive weekly notifications on your mobile phone the night before your collection day using the My Holdfast app. The app will remind you when and which bins need to be taken out.

Apple users can download it via the App Store, and Android users can download it via the Google Play Store. Enter “My Holdfast” into the search bar and look for the wave symbol. Then download and use it. Please note that the app's bin feature is only available for residents on the Weekly FOGO service.

If your bin collection was missed, please advise Solo Resource Recovery between 7am and 6pm, Monday to Friday.

• Place your bins on the kerb in a visible position by 6 am on the collection day, and once they are emptied, bring them back in on the same day.
• Bins should be placed 50cm apart, with their wheels facing away from the kerb. They should also be at least one metre from obstacles such as parked cars, trees and electricity poles.
• If you live in a multi-apartment complex, please place bins of the same type in a row, for example, all recycling bins next to each other. This will make it easier for the truck to collect.
• Bins must be less than 50 kg to be emptied.
