To apply for an advertised position, please email careers@holdfast.sa.gov.au with your resume and cover letter of up to 2 pages introducing yourself and outlining your qualifications, experience and skills relating to the role (refer to the relevant Position Description). Please quote the relevant reference number for the position; this will be detailed in the advert.
Yes, you will receive an email notification confirming the receipt of your application.
This can vary for each position. The process from beginning (position being advertised) to end (all applicants being advised of the outcome) will generally be from 6 to 8 weeks.
Pre-employment medical assessments are undertaken for Field based positions. Where a pre-employment medical assessment is to be undertaken, applicants are made aware of this through the recruitment process
Background screening checks are undertaken for prescribed positions. Where a background screening check is to be undertaken, applicants are made aware of this through the recruitment process.
Yes, all new employees are subject to a 6 month probation period, in line with the relevant Enterprise Agreement.

The City of Holdfast Bay recognises periods of Council service, with respect to long service leave and sick leave, in accordance with the South Australian Local Government Act 1999.
Employees of the City of Holdfast Bay are governed by either the:
- City of Holdfast Bay and The Australian Services Union Administrative Staff Enterprise Agreement; or the
- Field Services Staff Enterprise Agreement
