We have a range of eBooks, eAudio books, digital magazines, and more available for you to use for free.

Almost all can be used from home or anywhere that has internet access.

All you need is your library card number and PIN.
Your PIN is the last four digits of your phone number (if you have a Holdfast Bay library card).

Reading Challenges

Holdfast Bay library is hosting reading challenges throughout the year including seasonal challenges over the school holidays.

To get started with a reading challenge, please register through our Beanstack page.

Beanstack is a free online service that our libraries use as a tool to help us run reading challenges and log reading activity.

1001 Books before school:

A reading challenge to promote early literacy and instil the love of reading! Earn virtual badges and collect prizes from the library at specific milestones.

Visit any of the Holdfast Bay libraries and select from the wide range of children’s books.

Adult Reading Challenge:

Challenge yourself to read a certain amount of books during the year and track them through the app.

BorrowBox is an easy-to-use platform that allows you to select and download eBooks, eAudiobooks and eMagazines to your computer or any mobile device. Powered by Bolinda Digital, BorrowBox has a wide selection of titles. Included are the latest releases, best sellers, and lots of Australian titles.

Overdrive/Libby

Borrow a wide range of eMagazines, eBooks and eAudiobooks including fiction, non-fiction, children's, and graphic novels. Overdrive/Libby is compatible with a wide range of devices.

This service includes access to free iOs, Android & Windows apps.
You can use either the Overdrive or the Libby app.

Storybox Library

Enjoy storytime at any time.
Storybox Library contains a virtual reading room where Australian personalities including Missy Higgins, John Schumann, Cal Wilson, Kate Ritchie, and Andy Griffiths read children's stories online.
The videos include accompanying home learning activities.

Choose Holdfast Bay Libraries from the drop-down list of libraries (or type Holdfast to jump to Holdfast Bay Libraries) then enter your Library card number and Pin and click log In.

SpineOut is a place where you can express your ideas and thoughts and share your creativity in words, art, film, or music. A fun and interactive site.

LinkedIn Learning

LinkedIn Learning (formerly LyndaLibrary) is a user-friendly, self-paced online training resource. It offers a variety of expertly presented training courses on a wide range of topics.

Log on using your Library card number and PIN (the last 4 digits of your phone number if you have a Holdfast library card.)

Aussie Driver

This is a great tool for those studying for their learners' permit in South Australia. Aussie-Driver enables you to practice with free learners tests for driving in South Australia.
