Club Events

If your club is seeking to hold an event within its licensed premises or its playing fields, please note that you will need to seek formal Council approval if:

  • The event requires additional infrastructure (bins, marquees, fences, bouncy castles, stage(s), pavilions, bars, portable toilets, etc.).
  • The event is held by, or predominantly run by, a third party for commercial purposes.
  • The event has an entry cost, is ticketed in any way and/or areas available to the general public are fenced off or restricted.
  • Third parties selling goods and services to the public (e.g., food trucks, stall holders, pop-up bars, etc.) will be present at the event.
  • During the event, alcohol will be sold and/or consumed in an area not covered by the club’s existing liquor license.
  • The event will provide entertainment (other than the club’s sporting matches).
  • The event falls outside the club’s times of use of the area on which it is held; or
  • the event does not directly promote the sport played by the club.
  • Any of the aspects of the event contravene any terms and conditions contained in the club’s lease.

*Please note a minimum 3-month notice period for large-scale events and one month for small to medium events
