The City of Holdfast Bay offers a range of opportunities for artists, creatives, and performers living and working in our city. Whether you are an emerging or professional artist, you can be supported in many ways in your creative practice.

We value the opportunity to connect people through creativity and provide workshops to encourage people to learn new skills, expand their thinking, or tap into their creative side. If you are interested in facilitating a creative workshop, we would like to hear your ideas.

Unplugged at Partridge - Stallholders Application

The City of Holdfast Bay invites artists, creatives and makers to register their interest in being a stallholder at the Unplugged at Partridge event on Sunday 29 March 2026 at Partridge House, Glenelg

Unplugged at Partridge is a digital detox and upcycle event to help people slow down, switch off, celebrate sustainability and connect with community and creativity. The event will include makers markets, clothing swap, workshops, inspiring guest speakers, repair cafes, live music and more!

We are currently on the lookout for a diverse range of makers and creatives with a passion for eco-friendly practices, upcycling and hand-crafted sustainable goods. Whether you are a seasoned artist, emerging maker, or community-minded creative and would like to host a stall at this event, we’d love to hear from you.

$60 for over 26+ or $40 for Youth Makers (aged 25 or under)

If you do not have your own Public Liability Insurance, Council may be able to provide coverage through a once-off permit, subject to certain exclusions.

Participation in Unplugged at Partridge as a stallholder is subject to your acceptance of the following terms and conditions. Please read these carefully.

Selection: Applications will be carefully considered against the selection criteria by the selection panel and the aims of Unplugged at Partridge event. Applicants are not guaranteed acceptance as we have limited stalls available.

Stalls: Stall allocation will be determined by the selection panel. We will try to accommodate location requests; however, this cannot be guaranteed.

Stallholders are solely responsible for managing all aspects of their stall operations, including providing adequate change and EFT payment facilities. While organisers will encourage attendees to bring cash in keeping with the event’s digital-detox theme, stallholders must ensure they are prepared to process all payments.

Stallholders are encouraged to set up and display their artwork creatively to enhance their product and contribute to the market aesthetic. Please be advised that there is NO power available for the stalls.

Subleasing: Stalls cannot be sublet or shared without approval of the selection panel. Applications for shared stalls must list ALL names and contact details of applicants.

Products: Please make sure that the description on your application is accurate and covers all work intended for sale. Product descriptions must cover the full range of works intended for sale. This is to maintain the balance of products available and protect the unique quality of products sold.

Products / content should not be profane, racist, sexist or defamatory.

Times: Stallholders will need to be on location from 8.30am. Stall holders can set up between 8.30am – 10am. Please arrive on site no later than 9am or you may lose your allocated site. Market stalls must be set up and ready to sell by 10am. The event will be open to the general public from 10am – 3pm. Stallholders are not permitted to pack up prior to 3pm.

The City of Holdfast Bay reserves the right to cancel the event should there be a reasonable cause to do so. Times and dates may also be subject to change.

Site: You will be provided with a 3 x 3 metre marquee located in the front garden of Partridge House. You will need to bring along your own table/s and chairs. All stall equipment, including signage, must be contained within the boundaries of your marquee to ensure that your stall is non-obtrusive to other stallholders and always leaves public access clear.

Environment and waste: Unplugged at Partridge is a zero-waste event, so we ask all stallholders to use compositable, or recyclable packaging, please do not use plastic or anything else that can end up in landfill. Stallholders are expected to clean up after themselves and ensure their site is left in good condition at the end of the event.

Promotion and Publicity: Promotion of Unplugged at Partridge will be conducted by the City of Holdfast Bay, your assistance in channeling any comment for media through Council to ensure consistency will be appreciated. The City of Holdfast Bay reserves the right to photograph the market and document the event for unlimited use in publications promoting the city.

Public Liability Insurance: Stallholders are required to have Public Liability Insurance for a minimum $10,00,000 and a Certificate of Currency must be provided with your application. If you do NOT hold your own Public Liability Insurance, Council may be able to provide coverage through a once-off permit.

Indemnity: The stallholder agrees to indemnify Council, its employees and agents against all claims brought or expenses claimed against them arising out of or in relation to the project. Notwithstanding the above, you will not be liable for personal injury to or the death of any person or loss of or damage resulting from any breach by the Council of any provision of this contract or any negligent act or omission of the Council, its employees and agents. The works will be displayed at the artist’s own risk.

Events, Festivals, Arts and Cultural Grants - OPEN

The Events, Festivals, Arts and Cultural Grants aim to support local community events and festivals and provide opportunities for not-for-profit arts and cultural organisations, groups, collectives, and individuals to deliver innovative, creative arts and cultural activities or works of art in the public realm.

This program aims to represent various art forms and activities that contribute to public spaces and/or promote cultural vitality, creativity, and connection within the city. The program also supports activations and innovations, encouraging participation by people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.

The Events, Festivals, Arts and Cultural Grants are now open for applications.

How Much Can You Apply For?

Applicants may apply for up to $3,000 per event, festival, public art or cultural project.

Matched or additional funding towards the project will be looked upon favourably but not essential.

Funds will be available until exhausted.

Are you an artist / arts facilitator and have a good idea for a local workshop? If so, please get in touch as we are looking to promote and support local creatives and engage with workshop facilitators for future Creative Holdfast workshops.
