This exhibition Kungka Kutjara Tjukurrpa translates to "Two Women Tjukurrpa" or "The Story of Two Women" in the Pitjantjatjara language. This story is part of the Tjukurrpa, which is the body of knowledge, beliefs, and stories that underpin the culture and spirituality of the Anangu people, the indigenous people of the Western Desert region of Australia.

The story of Kungka Kutjara Tjukurrpa tells the tale of two women who travelled across the land, creating important sites and dreaming paths as they went. These women are believed to have shaped the landscape, creating waterholes, rocks, and other features that are significant to the Anangu people.

Be sure to visit the Glenelg Art Gallery to see Irene's and many other First Nation Artists' artworks.
