Try something new at our libraries this July
When was the last time you did something for the first time? If it’s been a while, then this is your cue to try something new.
This July, LibrariesSA is launching Firstival, a month-long ‘festival of firsts’ co-hosted across South Australia's 130 public libraries - including the Brighton and Glenelg libraries.
With a jam-packed program featuring beginner-friendly events for all ages, from building your first worm farm to solving your first escape room, Firstival aims to rekindle South Australians’ curious spirit and cement libraries as community hubs of welcome, wonder, and discovery.
Check out the full program at firstival.com.au or see our events at the link below.
Drop into the Brighton or Glenelg libraries to get your free library membership card, which gives access to the Firstival library events. Cardholders can also borrow books - from our collection of more than 44,000 items - DVDs, CDs, magazines, and toys.
And everyone who holds a SA library card has access to all the books across public libraries in South Australia. That means with your Holdfast Bay library card, you could potentially access more than 2.2 million books.
With your library membership card, you can also listen to 170,000 songs, and 23,000 audiobooks and watch 16,000 movies via the various digital platforms and apps available through the public library network.
