Planned repairs to the Edith Butler Pier Boardwalk at the Glenelg Marina have been temporarily delayed and will not be starting this month.

During pre‑start assessments, structural issues were identified in the surrounding areas, beyond the boardwalk infrastructure.

These issues will need to be addressed first by third-parties before Council can proceed with the planned repairs for the north-western section of the boardwalk.

Pedestrian access to the boardwalk and across the Patawalonga Gate remains open as normal but vehicle access to the boardwalk will continue to be restricted.

Nearby residents are being informed of the delayed start to the boardwalk repairs and further updates will be shared with the community once the investigations are complete and before construction begins.

When the boardwalk repairs begin, pedestrian and bike access across the Patawalonga Gate will be restricted for six weeks during construction, with detour signs in place.
