The Friends of Sturt River Landcare Group is a community of nature-loving residents who have been caring for local native ecosystems in and around the Sturt River (Warriparri) in Glenelg North since 2019. They established and now maintain, in collaboration with the City of Holdfast Bay, the biodiversity garden beds at Stewart, Bob Lewis, Fordham, and Shannon Avenue Reserves adjacent to the river.
Come and join them for a morning of planting at Shannon Avenue Reserve in Glenelg North as they undertake bushcare to protect indigenous plants in an area that was planted in 2024. All are welcome.
Individuals and families can register on arrival at the trailer parked on Shannon Avenue, Glenelg North. Community groups must make contact before the event by emailing friendsofsturtriver@gmail.com.
