Councils are part of the democratic framework of Australia. The community elects its Council Members every four years and the next general election happens in 2022. Council elections are the biggest single voluntary civic participation activity in the state.
The Audit Committee is established in accordance with the Local Government Act 1999 and the functions of the Audit Committee include reviewing annual financial statements to ensure that they present fairly the state of affairs of the Council.
The Alwyndor Management Committee is established to manage the affairs of Alwyndor Aged Care.
The Executive Committee meets on an as needs basis to recommend and advise Council in relation to the Chief executive Officer’s annual performance appraisal including setting annual objectives
This committee provides advice to the Council in relation to the extent to which the Council’s strategic planning and development policies are in accord with the Planning Strategy as formulated under the Development Act 1993
The Jetty Road Mainstreet Committee is established to advise Council on enhancing and promoting the Precinct as a vibrant shopping, leisure, and recreational area with a year-round appeal to residents and visitors.
