This committee provide advise to the council in relation to the extent to which the council’s strategic planning and development policies are in accord with the Planning Strategy as formulated under the Development Act 1993
The Jetty Road Mainstreet Committee is established to advise Council on enhancing and promoting the Precinct as a vibrant shopping, leisure and recreational area with year round appeal to residents and visitors.
Council Assessment Panel meetings are held in the Kingston Room, Brighton Civic Centre, 24 Jetty Road, Brighton and commence at 7pm. There are four Independent Members and one Elected Member on the Council Assessment Panel.
Council Workshops/Briefings provide a valuable opportunity to enhance the decision-making processes by providing opportunities for council members to become better informed on issues and seek further clarification. These gatherings can include planning sessions, briefings and training.
We actively encourage members of our community to attend Council Committee meetings. On some occasions, meetings are closed when topics of a confidential nature are being discussed.
