Meet Dianne Schroeder – the person responsible for installing the poppy banners on Brighton Jetty for Remembrance Day and Anzac Day each year.

The installation started a decade ago with the Anzac banner and just 700 knitted and crocheted poppies.

It has grown over the years to now include Lest We Forget, Army, Navy and Air Force and We Will Remember Them signs, which together are made up of more than 6000 individual poppies.

The poppies have been donated by volunteers and members of the community including local craft groups, churches, knitters guild and the wider South Australian community.

Dianne started the installation in 2015 because of her family's wartime connection.

Her grandfather was an Anzac with the 9th Field Engineers, 10th Brigade AIF and then with the 13th Garrison AIF in World War II.
