The Brighton Jetty will be closed from 12pm on 31 December 2025 and reopen by 1am on 1 January 2026.

All of Glenelg is declared a dry area with signage in place. The area extends east-west from Brighton Road to the foreshore (including Holdfast Shores, Wigley Reserve, Colley Reserve, Brian Nadilo Reserve - Ngutinilla and Jimmy Melrose Park). The dry area means alcohol must not be consumed or carried in open containers within these boundaries, except within licensed premises.

Additional police and security resources will be in place to enforce the dry areas.

Are businesses open for food and beverages?

Many local businesses are expected to be open. Check with individual establishments for details.

Jetty Road, Glenelg, will be a hive of activity with dine-in and takeaway options for dinner. Plenty of ice cream and dessert options make it the perfect place to spend NYE with family and friends.

People are encouraged to book dinner and NYE packages early to avoid disappointment.

Can I bring my food and drinks?

Yes, but please remember that the events are declared dry areas. No alcohol is allowed.

What toilets are available?

Public toilets are available at the Glenelg Town Hall, Brian Nadilo, and Jimmy Melrose Reserves in Glenelg.

In Brighton, there are public toilets in Bindarra Reserve.

Is there first aid?

Yes, a hub at the Glenelg Community Centre provided by St John and a roaming team for Brighton.
