Join our guests from the Deaf Butterfly effect for an introduction to the language of Auslan. Approximately 16,000 people in Australia speak Auslan, and it is becoming widely used in many households, according to the 2021 census.

In this introduction session, you will get an introduction to the language of Auslan and learn some basic vocabulary (such as basic signs) to give yourself a taste of the language. No prior knowledge of Auslan required for this session.

This event is for adults and youth ages 15+.

We will always do our best to run our programs. However, please understand that programs may be cancelled at the last minute due to changes in health requirements.

This event has been organised by the City of Holdfast Bay Libraries and the Deaf Butterfly Effect.
