The fun run is a unique opportunity for runners, wheelchair athletes and walkers to participate in the mass-participation event with thousands of other people. The event has helped raise over $5 million for over 150 South Australian charities since its inception in 1973 and is the biggest fun run in Australia based on per head per capita.

On Sunday 15 September, there will be four starts with details below;

• A 21-km half marathon. It starts at 6:00 a.m. from Colley Tce, Glenelg. It travels along Jetty Road, Brighton Road, Anzac Highway, and South Terrace before turning into Morphett and Sturt Street in the City and returning along the same route to the finish line in Glenelg.

• 12km. Run start at 8:00am, walk and wheelchairs at 8:20am on King William Rd Adelaide.

• 6km. Run start at 8:30am, walk and wheelchairs at 9:15am from the western end of Kurralta Central Shopping Centre on Anzac Highway.

• 3km. Run, walk, and wheelchairs start at 10am from The Junction, Morphettville.

Location

The event finish line is on Colley Terrace. As you head towards Glenelg, police and race marshals will direct you to Jetty Rd, either via Brighton Road or Gordon Street. When travelling along Jetty Road, please be aware of the tram lines and take care turning the corner from Jetty Road onto Colley Terrace.

Road Closure Information is as follows:

  • Anzac Highway, Glenelg East between Morphett Road, and Gordon Street (southern carriageway).
    Closure Time 5am to 12.30pm.
  • Anzac Highway, Glenelg, between Aldephi Tce and Chappell Drive (entry and exit to Chappell Dr will be permitted under the guidance of the traffic controller). Delays are likely due to large crowds of people. Closure Time is 5 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.
  • Augusta Street, Glenelg between Durham Street and Colley Terrace
    Closure Time 4am to 2pm.
  • Brighton Road, Glenelg between Anzac Highway and Jetty Road (eastern carriageway)
    Closure Time 5am to 12.30pm.
  • Colley Tce, Glenelg between Jetty Road, and Anzac Highway.
    Closure Time 4am to 2pm.
  • Gordon St, Glenelg between Anzac Highway and Jetty Road.
    Closure Time 5am to 12.30am.
  • Jetty Rd, Glenelg between Brighton Road, and Moseley Street.
    Closure Time 5am to 12.30 pm.
  • Jetty Rd, Glenelg between Moseley Street and Colley Terrace
    Closure Time 4am to 2pm.
  • Maxwell Tce, Glenelg East between Brighton Road, and Fortrose Street.
    Closure Time 5am to 12.30pm.
  • Moseley St, Glenelg between Jetty Road, and Elizabeth St
    Closure Time 4am – 12:30pm

No Parking in the Central section of Anzac Highway outside the Watermark Hotel 4am – 12.30pm
