Your chance to celebrate our blue backyard

If getting up close and personal with the Great Southern Reef and learning about its incredible marine life sounds right up your alley, you’re in for a treat at this event.

This free, family-friendly event at the Kauri Community and Sports Centre at Seacliff lets you explore this amazing ecosystem without even getting your feet wet!

You can dive beneath the waves thanks to a virtual reality experience, where you’ll come face-to-face with some iconic species like whales, sea lions and cuttlefish, or check out marine specimens under the microscope.

Plus, you can learn from marine biologists and coastal experts about everything from sharks and rays to beach-nesting birds, or simply let the kids unwind with some nature drawing and colouring-in. This is a jam-packed day full of wonder and discovery about our underwater wonders.

This event is proudly coordinated by the City of Holdfast Bay, Green Adelaide, Experiencing Marine Sanctuaries, PIRSA Fishcare, the Marine Discovery Centre and BirdLife Australia.
