VACSWIM is a government-funded initiative that has been providing South Australian primary school children with water knowledge for more than 50 years. VACSWIM is South Australia’s most renowned summer holiday program giving kids confidence in and around the water. Programs cater for children from 3 to 12 years and take place during the December and January Summer school holidays. Delivered as 5-day blocks, it is a water-safety program that aims to teach children vital water safety and survival techniques that could save lives this summer. Activities include first aid, entering and exiting the water correctly, surf and sun safety, and what children can do if they find themselves in trouble.
