We have partnered with Nature Play SA to create the 'Down by the Sea' community resource. Down by the Sea is a hard copy booklet and an online resource, featuring a range of adventures spread across 6 Holdfast Bay natural spaces. These spaces include urban woodlands, creek lines, cliff faces, sand dunes, open sandy beaches and rocky shorelines. The booklet provides a snapshot of local biodiversity and offers tips on bringing more nature to your backyard and becoming more sustainable as an individual. We have also highlighted several Kaurna place names and utilised Kaurna language to acknowledge and celebrate our rich cultural identity.
The resource is for all ages and adventures can be completed by individuals, groups and families.
You can collect your Down by the Sea booklet at:
- Brighton and Glenelg Library
- Brighton Civic Centre
- Bay Discovery Centre
- or download the Down By The Sea E-Booklet today
The booklet has a range of fun, creative and inspiring outdoor adventures, and the activities encourage people to take in their surroundings, be present and observe nature. It also shares some fun facts and insight into the history, culture, local plants and wildlife located throughout the area.
