Location
Gurr was a member of the Aboriginal Friends Association, which was formed to curb the unfavourable attitude of some colonists towards the Indigenous population. Gurr died in 1910, aged 92 years.
The name Restormel, may come from Cornish, meaning the king's tower hill.
