Youth Week - Public Art

Youth Week Public Art Mural

To celebrate, the Hold Up Youth Committee initiated the concept of a public art mural. Generating an opportunity specifically targeting young people, provides an opportunity for young people to create, connect, showcase, and value public art within their local community.

Young people were invited to be mentored by renowned local artist, Sair Bean, who together designed and painted a public art mural at the Seacliff Zig Zag ramp. The mural painting was part of Youth Week 2023 with the theme of celebrating and showcasing young people’s contribution to their community.

SA Youth Week (SAYW) is South Australia’s biggest celebration of young people aged 12-24. The aim of the initiative was to showcase young people's talents and their contributions to the community. SA Youth Week is supported by the Department of Human Services.
