With approximately 9km of coastline to care for and maintain, a shout out to our Depot team who, in addition to maintaining all our public spaces across the city, have also been tasked with monitoring and cleaning up our beaches, as the harmful algal bloom continues to impact marine life.

Crews are assessing the beaches daily and bring in beach cleaning machinery as the need arises, log reports with FISHWATCH and PIRSA if there large-scale clean-ups are required or large marine animals have washed up on shore.

Beach users are urged to report fish deaths to FISHWATCH on 1800 065 522.

Sick or dead wildlife including marine mammals and wild birds can be reported to the Emergency Animal Disease hotline on 1800 675 888.
