On Kaurna Land window stickers
Have you noticed the On Kaurna Land stickers on shop front windows across Holdfast Bay?
The sticker idea was first raised by Ben Hurst, owner of The Lover Fighter Company located on Jetty Road, Brighton.
He approached Council with the idea of the shopfront sticker to symbolise that we not only live and work on Kaurna land but also as gesture of “togetherness".
Allan Sumner, a Kaurna Ngarrindjeri Yankunytjatjara artist from Aboriginal Contemporary Arts, created the design for the sticker and came together with Ben to showcase it.
The sticker has been offered for free to all local businesses and residents in Holdfast Bay.
If you’d like a sticker for your business, email business@holdfast.sa.gov.au
Or if you’re a local resident, you can collect a sticker from the Brighton Civic Centre, Brighton or Glenelg libraries.
*Please note, a white background has been used on the sticker to highlight the design in the photo. The sticker itself is only available with a transparent background.
