NYE at the Bay and Brighton - all you need to know

Celebrate New Year’s Eve at the Bay with a free family-friendly concert headlined by Sneaky Sound System, and massive fireworks displays off the Glenelg Jetty at 9.30pm and midnight!

City of Holdfast Bay Mayor, Amanda Wilson, says Glenelg’s free family-friendly concert offers a fantastic opportunity for people of all ages to enjoy the Bay on New Year’s Eve.

“Our popular fireworks displays off Glenelg Jetty at 9.30pm and midnight will, once again, be synchronised with music by radio station Nova 91.9, and if you’re after a cosier celebration, you can pack a picnic and get down to Brighton Beach for the fabulous 9.30pm fireworks off Brighton Jetty.”

Mayor Wilson says, as always, safety is the top priority for crowds attending the event, with a $30,000 grant from the Government of South Australia and close collaboration with traders, licensees, SA Police and emergencies services supporting “a well-planned, well-run, safe event”.

“The City of Holdfast Bay is working closely with State Government, traders, licensees, SA Police and emergency services as we prepare for the event and we’ll be in close contact throughout the night. This year Glenelg is again a Declared Public Precinct on New Year’s Eve, so police will have additional provisions in place to keep everyone safe so we can all focus on having a wonderful time.”

“Our dry zonesare in place in all reserves, along the foreshores, in Moseley Square and throughout Glenelg and our traffic management plan features road closures and speed limitsin key areas.”
