Glenelg now home to a Changing Places accessible toilet

Thursday 3 March 2022

Glenelg is officially one of 16 places across South Australia to have a Changing Places toilet, which provides suitable facilities for people who cannot use standard accessible toilets.

The toilet, which can be accessed at the back of Bouchee Walk (formerly Hindmarsh Lane, just off Jetty Road) requires a special MLAK key to open it and is fitted out to meet the needs of people with complex disabilities and their carers.

This includes an adult changing table, ceiling hoist, peninsula toilet and privacy screen.

The special access key, MLAK, can be ordered from the Master Locksmiths Association of Australasia and can be used on all dedicated public facilities that are fitted with a MLAK lock.

The significant upgrades to the public amenities in Bouchee Walk were completed in 2021 as part of the wider precinct redevelopment, which included Chapel Plaza across the road.
