Glenelg Football Club to receive key to the City at the Glenelg Street Party
SANFL Premiers Glenelg Football Club will be heading to the Glenelg Street Party on Sunday 6 October to receive the key to the City.
Jetty Road Glenelg will hold a major street party from 11am to 5pm, to welcome thousands of locals and visitors for a day of fun, filled with gourmet food, shopping, pop up bars, fashion parades, roaming entertainment and live music.
At 11.45am City of Holdfast Bay Mayor Amanda Wilson will welcome senior coach of the Glenelg Football Club, Mark Stone, and 15 of the premiership players to the main stage to be presented with a key to the city.
“It is so exciting for our community to welcome the mighty Tigers to the Glenelg Street Party and to present them with the key to the city”, said Mayor Amanda Wilson.
“The club has a long and rich history in our community. But seeing the Tigers win this year made me realise that winning as a team, and by extension a community, is so special.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for people to head down to Glenelg, to cheer on our Premiership champions, and enjoy the entertainment, food, fashion and excitement that the street party has to offer.”
Jetty Road will be closed to traffic and transformed into celebration central with pop-up bars, delicious food and exciting fashion parades.
“Don’t miss out on the incredible shopping, roaming entertainment and amazing live music from acoustic sounds to pub-rock anthems that will have you dancing well into the evening”, said Amanda Wilson.
“We’re also excited to welcome thousands of locals and visitors to the Street Party as part of the official program of the Australian Masters Games, which kicks off in Adelaide on Saturday.”
