Celebrate winter in Brighton

Sunday 29 May 2022

Fire pits, live music and great food and wine will come together on Saturday 18 June as Brighton celebrates the winter solstice.

The street party will take over Jetty Road at Brighton for the day and into the night and the road will be closed to traffic allowing people to wander the precinct and enjoy the party atmosphere.

Food and wine will be offered by the street’s local traders and keep an eye out for Brighton Winter Solstice specials.

Porch Records will be curating the live music line-up on the main stage at the corner of Jetty Road and Gurrs Road, which will kick off at 3pm.

Fire pits and barrels will be placed along the street to provide warmth well into the evening.

Holdfast Bay Mayor Amanda Wilson is looking forward to the street party, which is the second for Jetty Road Brighton this year.

“There’s no better or fun way for the community to support local – and we get to enjoy the best of Brighton without travelling too far from home,” she said.

"It is also important to reconnect with our neighbours and community and what better way than over an open fire. “

The street party will be held from 10am - 9pm.

Jetty Road will be closed to traffic from 7am on Saturday 18 June, and will reopen by midnight after the event has concluded.
