DPTI Tram line closure and SA Water Jetty Road works
The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) will be undertaking essential maintenance works on the Glenelg tram line from 10pm Friday 15 June to first service Monday 18 June 2018, weather permitting.
As a result, trams will not operate between South Terrace in Adelaide and Moseley Square during these times and will be replaced by bus services.
As trams will not be operational, SA Water has advised it will also undertake further necessary maintenance works on Jetty Road, Glenelg.
SA Water, through their contractor SEM Water, will be undertaking works to install sections of new water main pipes along Jetty Road between Byron Street and Rose Street and between Moseley Street and Milton Street, Glenelg.
Works are scheduled to occur from 7pm Saturday 16 June to 11am Sunday 17 June to coincide with tram isolations occurring for tram maintenance works. Works between Moseley Street and Milton Street will occur after 11pm and finish before 6am.
During the works, Jetty Road between Byron Street and Rose Street and between Moseley Street and Milton Street will be closed to all traffic, except public buses, around the work-zone (street to street) with detours in place. Traffic management will be in place to ensure the safety of the public and crew.
Pedestrian access along Jetty Road will remain open at all times throughout the project.
Adelaide Metro buses will be replacing tram services during this period and will have access to Jetty Road.
DPTI and SA Water are communicating directly with stakeholders including the Jetty Road traders and residents via mail and email.
