The City of Holdfast Bay's policies reflect the culture, values and strategic direction of the Council and its community. Policies give an explanation as to why activities are to be undertaken, provide guidelines for action and a mechanism for dealing with issues as they arise on a day to day basis.
Councils in South Australia are able to establish by-laws, under the Local Government Act, 1999. By-laws are local laws established by Councils to deal with issues specific to the relevant Council area
There are a number of Registers required to be kept under the Local Government Act 1999, and the City of Holdfast Bay acknowledges and openly agrees to this.
