Your Holdfast - Projects and new initiatives
With the current news and situation evolving with Coronavirus (COVID-19), the City of Holdfast Bay is closely monitoring the latest information from Federal and State governments and are working to manage the impact to our people and community.

The customer service centre at Brighton Civic Centre is open to the public.
Located at 24 Jetty Road, Brighton, the centre is open to the public 8.30am to 5pm, Monday to Fridays.
Please follow safe social distancing and health advice by keeping 1.5m apart, maintaining personal hygiene by regularly washing/sanitising hands, and not visiting the Civic Centre if you are unwell.

Our new mobile app, My Holdfast, is now available to download from the Apple and Google Play stores for the iPhone and Android mobile phones.

Bay Discovery Centre and History Centre
The Bay Discovery Centre and the Visitor Information Centre at the Glenelg Town Hall is now open
Open daily from 10am to 2pm, entry is by gold coin donation.
The History Centre is temporarily closed to the public until further notice.
You can however make an appointment for a Thursday between 10am-2pm or send us your enquiry, information about a donation offer or a request to purchase images via email@example.com
Community Centres and Community Gardens
The community centres are operating a limited schedule of programs and activities in accordance with South Australian Government COVID-19 restrictions and physical distancing guidelines.

The Glenelg and Brighton libraries are open.
Visitors are reminded to follow social distancing and health advice by keeping 1.5m apart, maintaining personal hygiene by regularly washing/sanitising hands, and not visiting the library if they are unwell.
Both the expanded home library service are offering Australia Post deliveries of reservations will continue. Please visit www.holdfast.sa.gov.au/libraries

Holdfast Bay playgrounds are open.
Playground users are urged to maintain safe social distancing of 1.5 metres apart; keep up good hygiene by regularly washing hands.
We are very aware of the difficult time being experienced by many members of our community as a result of the rapidly changing situation in response to COVID-19.
If you have been impacted by loss of income and are facing financial hardship, be assured we are here to support our community. We have already introduced immediate, short-term measures for ratepayers including temporarily stopping fines and interest charged on rates, and providing options to postpone rates.
We have temporarily suspended all Community Wellbeing social group activities until further notice.

Our Community Wellbeing team continues to provide support to our older residents and residents with disabilities and can be contacted on 8229 9999.
Following government advice regarding mass gatherings, many events managed by City of Holdfast Bay have been cancelled.
The City of Holdfast Bay events team is working with organisers of external events due to be held in Holdfast Bay to postpone any large scale events planned in the immediate future.
We are urging our community to continue practicing physical distancing and good hygiene, as per SA Health guidelines.
- Keep 1.5 metres apart from others.
- Stay home if you are unwell.
- If you have any COVID-19 symptoms, get a COVID-19 test.
- Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for 20 seconds.
- Avoid touching your face.
- Sneeze or cough into the crook of your arm or use a tissue and dispose of straight away, then wash your hands.
- Do not attend work and avoid public places, if you are unwell.
