This can vary for each position. The process from beginning (position being advertised) to end (all applicants being advised of the outcome) will generally be from 6 to 8 weeks.
Pre-employment medical assessments are undertaken for Field based positions. Where a pre-employment medical assessment is to be undertaken, applicants are made aware of this through the recruitment process.
Yes, a Department of Human Services (DHS) screening clearance is required for all positions, with the type of clearance required depending on the position. Applicants are advised at interview of the type of clearance required.
Yes, all new employees are subject to a 6 month probation period, in line with the relevant Enterprise Agreement.

The City of Holdfast Bay recognises periods of council service, with respect to long service leave and sick leave, in accordance with the South Australian Local Government Act 1999.
Employees of the City of Holdfast Bay are governed by either the:
- City of Holdfast Bay and The Australian Services Union Administrative Staff Enterprise Agreement; or the
- Field Services Staff Enterprise Agreement
