Chart Your Family TreeLibraries -- Ancestry

The Ancestry database gives researchers access to a wide range of resources for genealogical
and historical research. It includes records from the United States and United Kingdom Census,
military records, court, land and probate records, vital and church records and directories.
The database can only be searched from within the Brighton and Glenelg Libraries and the Holdfast
Bay History Centre.

 Local History Images

The Holdfast Bay History Centre has a comprehensive collection of historic photographs and many of these can be viewed on the Library's Catalogue. To find these images include the word "photograph" in a general keyword search, for example, "Brighton jetty photograph"or do a subject search, for example, "Luna Park" or "Jetty Road". These searches will retrieve catalogue records and in your search results you will see sets of 'thumbnail' or preview images. When you click on one of these you will view the full-size version. Adding photographic images to the Library catalogue is an ongoing project and hundreds of images are being added each month.
