Help us protect our Holdfast Bay Hoodies! (Steer clear of Seacliff Dunes)
There are only 50 vulnerable Hooded Plovers on the Fleurieu Peninsula, and a pair has arrived in Seacliff, made a nest and laid three eggs! (Which shows our collaborative dune restoration efforts are working!)
The chicks will hatch early next week but won’t survive unless we all stay away and keep dogs on leashes at all times when we’re near the Seacliff dunes.
We’ve roped off the area and closed the beach access points near the nest, so please do your bit and give them space.
