'Dollars & Sense' approach to supporting Glenelg Football Club

City of Holdfast Bay Mayor Stephen Patterson says Council will provide ‘critical breathing room’ for the Glenelg Football Club as it works to build a sustainable financial future, by writing off interest currently owing on the club’s Council loan, and waiving future interest for the next two years. Council will appoint an independent specialist to settle terms with the Club and SANFL to protect Holdfast Bay ratepayers’ interests by ensuring SANFL dividends from the sale of AAMI Stadium.

Jetty Road Trams: Back on Track!

Holdfast Bay Council approves DPTI design with no bike lane

29 May 2017
City of Holdfast Bay Mayor Stephen Patterson says, as a result of concerns about safety for cyclists and pedestrians, Council resolved at its 23 May meeting to approve the State Government’s work on Jetty Road Glenelg’s tram stop 16 – with no bike lane and no delay to the works schedule. Council also agreed to match the State Government’s pledge of $40,000 to fund a marketing campaign to draw people back to Jetty Road at the conclusion of DPTI’s month-long tram track upgrade works.

Brighter Times for Brighton's 'Black Spot' (Jetty Rd works 22 May - 23 June)

City of Holdfast Bay Mayor Stephen Patterson says works to improve safety for pedestrians and road users at the Jetty Road Brighton Rail Crossing intersection will start this Monday 22 May. “This $325,000 project – prioritised and funded by the Australian Government’s Black Spot Programme – is great news for Brighton’s Jetty Road, as it will improve traffic flow, reduce the wait times for vehicles queuing around the rail crossing and provide a much safer pedestrian crossing at this busy intersection,” Mayor Patterson said.

30,000 expected at Glenelg's Tour Down Under Street Party!
